Woman keeps son’s body beleiving God will ‘revive’ him

A woman who was under the deep influence of superstition, kept her son’s body for seven days at her house to pray for his resurrection.

According to sources, Daniel (24) died due to illness on August 23.

His mother, Swarna Kumar, who believed that god would appear and bring him back to life, was performing prayers along with her elder son and daughter in the house.

When foul smell began emanating from the house, the neighbours brought the matter to the notice of the Suryaraopet police.

When the police arrived at the house on Wednesday night, the residents refused to open the doors and shouted that Daniel would get up again and urged the police not to intervene.

Swarna Kumar said that Jesus appeared to her in a dream and promised to give new life to her son and urged not to remove the body. Locals said that the woman was in blind belief and argued that the body be shifted immediately.
