Thiruvananthapuram – Jasvir Kaur of Punjab today broke the national record in the 63 kg women’s weightlifting category to win the Gold in the 35th National Games being played at VKN Menon Indoor Stadium, Thrissur on Tuesday.
After confirming her gold medal, she continued her lifts and ultimately broke the national record by lifting 94 Kg in Snatch and 118 Kg in Clean and Jerk, totaling 212.
Vandana Gupta of Uttar Pradesh bagged silver by lifting 93 kg in snatch and 113 kg in Clean and Jerk, totaling 206. Rakhi Haler of West Bengal got bronze by lifting 90 kg in Snatch and 113 kg in Clean and Jerk, totaling 203.
