A 49-year-old woman, identified as Kamaldeep Kaur, was fatally stabbed at her home in Ludhiana’s Vikas Nagar, off Pakhowal Road. Police have arrested her husband, Ravinder Singh, in connection with the killing, according to reporting published by PTI on 2 November.
Son discovered mother after returning home
According to the PTI report, the attack took place on Saturday evening, 31 October. The couple’s elder son, Gagandeep Singh, told police that his father had sent him to a nearby market to buy milk.
When he returned, he reportedly saw his father leaving the house. Gagandeep then found his mother injured inside and sought help from neighbours. She was taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead.
Police investigate circumstances of the killing
Dugri police are investigating the circumstances surrounding Kamaldeep’s death. The Times of India reported that police suspect the attack was linked to the husband’s suspicions about her fidelity. That remains an alleged motive under investigation, rather than an established finding.
Police reportedly registered a murder case against Ravinder Singh and seized a kitchen knife allegedly used in the attack. PTI reported that questioning was continuing. The allegations against him have not been established by a court.
Clarification on the Australia connection
Initial reports stated that Kamaldeep had returned from Australia only days before her death. However, PTI’s subsequent report, citing police, said she had returned four months earlier, while her husband returned on 29 October. The couple had visited Australia, where their younger son lives.
Published accounts differ on the travel timeline. SinghStation is highlighting this discrepancy to distinguish the initial reports from the later police-attributed account.
