Chandigarh: The Mumbai police arrested Punjabi singer Preet Brar while he was trying to flee abroad. Preet Brar was absconding since last month after being booked in a land fraud case.

Preet Brar was arrested on Friday by the Mumbai police with the help of Mumbai Airport Authorities and handed over to the Mohali police later. The Mohali police brought him on Tuesday.

Preet Brar and his non-resident Indian (NRI) brother Amritpal Singh Brar were booked in a Rs. 51 lakh fraud case in August.

The complainants alleged that Preet Brar and his brother took earnest money of Rs. 51 lakh for a land which they never owned.

The singer was also booked in another case in April this year for theft and forcibly occupying a flat in Mundi Kharar.

Brar had recently released his album Rise of Jatt and his song Teri Yari Karka, which has been well-received by his fans.
