Ferozpur – Ahead of 32nd anniversary of Operation Bluestar commemorations, Sarbat Khalsa appointed Interim Jathedar, Bhai Dhian Singh Mand has been taken into police custody.
He was scheduled to address the Sikh Sangat from Sri Akal Takht Sahib on the 32nd Ghallughar Diwas anniversary, however was taken into custody by the Ferozepur police.
As a preventive measure, the police have started arresting Sikh leaders. Sikh Youth Federation (Bhindrawale) president Gurjinder Singh, who recently announced to disrupt the customary address of Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh, was detained today, said SSP (Tarn Taran) Manmohan Kumar Sharma.
Sources said more arrests were likely to be made ahead of the Operation Bluestar anniversary.
