Cyber Crime wing of hyderabad police arrested four people on Jadoo TV signal piracy.
Cyber Crime wing conducted a raid on Pearl Technology at Tirumalgiri and arrested Mir Kashif Ali Khan (27), an Engineer, Jagadishwara Chari, Channel Monitor, N Sai Kumar, Tele Caller and J B Meghanathan, Web designer in this connection. Sumit Ahuja, the CEO of the company is absconding .
They were illegally tapping the cable TV signal and converting it into Internet signal and streaming to Jadoo TV, a US-based company. Each Jadoo TV box was priced between $250 and $300- one time investment. The ‘Pearl Technology’ was streaming 115 TV channels to Jadoo TV.
The cyber crime cell took the step following a complaint from Maa Television.
Jadoo TV CEO Sohail had said earlier that, company has signed legitimate contracts with content providers in various countries- including Pakistan, India, Afghanistan – to stream their channels either from the satellite-delivered beam or from the streams they deliver on the internet.
