EIGHT people have been injured after a ferry hit the wharf at Circular Quay in Sydney this afternoon.

One man was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital with facial injuries.

A spokesman for Sydney Ferries says the vessel sustained damage to its bow and has been taken to a shipyard to be inspected and repaired.

Police say it appears the vessel struck a pylon while it was stopped at the wharf.
