Sydney bank robbed in CBD heist

A MAN has made off with cash after threatening two tellers during a bank robbery in Sydney’s CBD.

Police said the robbery occurred about 11.15am (AEDT) Wednesday at a bank on George Street in the centre of Sydney.

Officers attached to Sydney City Local Area Command were called and attended the bank a short time later.

No one was injured during the incident.

Police established a crime scene, which was examined by specialist forensic officers and detectives.

Officers also conducted an extensive search of the surrounding area, but the man was not found.

Investigations into the matter are continuing and police would now like to speak to a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

He’s described as Caucasian, about 40-50 years of age, about 160cm tall, with blond hair and a medium build.

He was last seen wearing a long-sleeved yellow fluoro shirt, long, black pants with a white stripe down the side, white joggers, a black cap with a red motif on the front, and he was carrying a black bag.
