CHANDIGARH: Soon after Team India’s defeat in World T20 final, security was beefed up around the house of cricketer Yuvraj Singh here on Sunday night.
Reports of stone pelting at Yuvraj’s house were received at the police control room following which heavy police force from Manimajra police station rushed to the spot. Sources in the police control room said unidentified youths in three different cars created ruckus outside the cricketer’s house.
Youvraj’s father Yograj on Sunday came out in defence of his son, saying the left-handed batsman, who struggled for his 11 runs off 21 balls, should not be singled out for India`s loss in the ICC World T20 final.
SHO of PS Manimajra, inspector Charanjeet Singh, said a patrolling gypsy was deployed near Yuvraj’s house following the incident.
