traveltravelamritsar Scoot’s service to Amritsar commences three times weekly and will increase frequency with an additional Monday service from July, restarting the Singapore-Amritsar route for the SIA Group.
The introductory fare is between Rs 4,660 ($70 AUD approx) and Rs 5,160 ($85 AUD) for economy. If you want to go business, its between Rs13,445 ($210 AUD) and Rs 13,900 ($225 AUD), according to media reports.
A return Singapore-Amritsar ticket can be bought at about $185 AUD, according to a check, by SinghStation of Scoot’s website.
The Singaporean low-cost-long-haul carrier will operate the direct flight from Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee international Airport thrice a week — on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays — and four times a week, later.
One of the reasons for Scoot to start Amritsar flight is to penetrate into Amritsar – Australia route through the Singapore hub with low-cost service.
Flight from Amritsar to Melbourne has short layover but from Melbourne and Sydney to Amritsar has a long layover of about 12 hours at Singapore. But Scoot offers flights with its partner Singapore Airlines that operates multiple flights daily to Australia. Booking of flights with Singapore airlines is current not available on Scoot website but fares with partner airlines will be available in the near future.
Qatar Airways, Turkmenistan Airlines, Uzbekistan Airlines, Malindo, Air India Express, Air India, and Spicejet fly out to foreign destinations from here currently. Scoot give Punjab people another option and the Amritsar airport a much-needed boost, it added.
