The Punjab and Haryana High Court today allowed regular bail plea of Sarbat Khalsa appointed Takht Sri Damdama Sahib Jathedar Baljit Singh Daduwal. He had allegedly delivered a speech to a congregation, the contents of which were alleged to be seditious.
In his petition placed before Justice MMS Bedi, Daduwal was seeking regular bail in an alleged case of sedition and other offences registered under Sections 124-A, 153-A, 153-B, 115, 117 and 120-B of the IPC, besides Section 13 of the Unlawful Act and 66-F of the IT Act.
The case was registered on November 12 last year at Chattiwind police Station. His counsel Gurvinder Singh Sidhu had alleged petitioner’s false implication in the case. Taking up the matter on a previous date of hearing, Justice Bedi had observed that the contents of the speech were not available on the police file.
