SAD Amritsar joins hands with UAD for polls

Fatehgarh Sahib – The Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) and United Akali Dal (UAD) have decided to contest the forthcoming Assembly elections jointly with those parties which helped them organise the Sarbat Khalsa last year.

A joint meeting of the SAD (A) and UAD was held here late last night in which the main leaders of both parties were present. The meeting was attended by United Akali Dal president Bhai Mohkam Singh, Wasan Singh Jaffarwal, Satnam Singh Manawa, Gurdeep Singh Bathinda, SAD(A) leaders Mohinderpal Singh, Jaskaran Singh Kahan Singh Wala, Karnail Singh Narike and Kuldeep Singh Bhogowal. Shiromani Akali Dal(Amritsar) president Simranjit Singh Mann had a brief participation in the meeting.

Sources said during meeting, a discussion was held about forthcoming Punjab Assembly election, SGPC election, Bhai Ranjit Singh Dadhriwala & Bhai Harnam Singh Dhumma issue and movie ‘Udta Punjab’.

Sources said the meeting witnessed heated exchanges between the leaders of the two political parties. However, they agreed to contest the elections with the panthic parties which had participated in the Sarbat Khalsa held last year.
