sajjankNew Delhi: In a major surprise from Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi, 1984 Sikh Genocide accused Sajjan Kumar and Jagdish Tytler have been included in the panel that would oversee party’s campaign for Delhi Assembly polls.

Delhi Gurudwara Management Committee President Manjit Singh has condemned the Congress high command for including the accused of 1984 riots in its poll panel. Speaking to CNN-IBN, Singh accused the Gandhi family of scripting the mass massacre. “Since the last 30 years, Sonia and Rahul Gandhi have been exposed.. they had carried out the riots,” he said.

However, an NDTV report quoted Rahul Gandhi office denying Sajjan Kumar and Jagdish Tytler having been included  in the poll panel. The report further stated that both Kumar and Tytler attended a meeting at Rahul Gandhi’s house on Wednesday morning.

Delhi Congress Chief Arvinder Singh Lovely, Ajay Maken, Shakeel Ahmad and Harun Yusuf are amongst the other names on the Election Command Committee.

Notably, the Gandhi scion has not named Sandeep Dikshit, former CM Sheila Dikshit’s son from the panel. He had recently been critical of Rahul’s brother-in-law Robert Vadra over his spat with a journalist.

Delhi is heading to fresh elections after the Union Cabinet approved L-G Najeeb Jung’s recommendation to dissolve the Assembly.
