Amritsar – The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has shifted two of the Panj Pyaras out of Punjab, but both have refused to join their new posting. It is probably for the first time that any of the Panj Pyaras has refused to abide by SGPC orders.
While Bhai Satnam Singh Khanda has been shifted to the Sikh Mission in Hapur (UP), Bhai Satnam Singh has been transferred to a similar mission in Delhi. The two said they would protest the order and decide their future course once the remaining three (of the Panj Pyaras) resumed duty. While Bhai Major Singh and Bhai Tarlok Singh are at Gurdwara Nankana Sahib in Pakistan for Amrit sanchar to mark the Gurpurb of Guru Nanak Dev sahib ji (both would return on November 29), Mangal Singh is on sick leave.
The Panj Pyaras were earlier shifted from the SGPC’s Amrit sanchar wing to ‘dharam parchar’ unit after they protested the pardon by Akal Takht to the Dera Sacha Sauda chief in a blasphemy case.
