Senior journalist Punya Prasun Bajpai says house owners are rejecting Kejriwal
New Delhi, June 18, 2014 – Finally, Arvind Kejriwal has decided to move out of his government-allotted residence by the end of June.
As per senior journalist Punya Prasun Bajpai’s blog, no one is ready to give Kejriwal a house on rent in Delhi.
Bajpai starts the blog with Kejriwal’s quote,”Here, ‘No one is ready to give us a house.’ This is not the lamenting of a Muslim looking for a house in Mumbai or an unemployed person. Scared whether this man will pay us the rent, no one wants to give us a house…These are the words of Arvind Kejriwal,”
The blog says that Kejriwal had almost fixed on a house in Mayur Vihar, but just when his family was ready to move in, the house owner said no.
While some are scared Kejriwal may not pay rent, others are scared of media camping outside. Some house owners are apprehensive that giving Kejriwal a house on rent would earn them enemies in local administration and in the Congress and BJP.
After becoming the CM, Kejriwal and family had shifted from the Kaushambi residence allotted to his wife, a senior IRS official, to a three-bedroom house on Tilak Lane. Kejriwal was allowed to stay in the house till July 31 after he sought an extension.
