Team Brahmpura launch New political party Shiromani Akali Dal Taksali

In a major embarrassment to Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) headed by Sukhbir Singh Badal, Team Brahmpura on Sunday announced launch of their new party — Shiromani Akali Dal Taksali after Ardas at Sri Harmandir Sahib.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • New political outfit has been named Shiromani Akali Dal (Taksali)
  • Almost a dozen senior leaders bid adieu to Akali Dal in last two months
  • Congress said that people have lost faith in Shiromani Akali Dal

Former senior Akali Dal leaders including Ranjit Singh Brahmpura, Ratan Singh Ajnala, Sewa Singh Sekhwan, Ravindra Brahampura Amarpal and Amar pal Singh Boni, who were expelled from the party recently, declared the formation of the political entity which will be known as Shiromani Akali Dal Taksali. The announcement was made in Amritsar.

Sewa Singh Sekhwan proposed the name of Khadur Sahib MP Ranjit Singh Brahampura for the president-ship of the new outfit which was seconded by Dr Rattan Singh Ajnala.

Although finer details of the new party remains unknown, the SAD (Taksali) leaders announced to adopt the constitution of SAD constituted on December 14, 1920.

When asked about the absence of Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, Brahampura said, “We had appealed him to join the function and he had promised to come, he didn’t say no to us, instead he had assured that he is with us, now we will get to know whether he is with us or not.”

Focusing his attack on Badal family, Brahampura said, ”Why everyone including innocents should seek pardon and there is a process of seeking forgiveness too, what SAD (Badal) leadership did were not mistakes but sins for which they should be punished.”

Badal family should retire from the politics and leave the party, said brahmpura

It is worth mentioning that nearly a dozen senior party leaders have left Akali Dal in last two months. They have accused Badals of misusing power within the party.
