PATIALA – Having secured the release of life convict Bhai Nand Singh Ji via a successful writ petition at the Panjab and Haryana High Court October 30th, the jail authorities have finally carried out the Order of the High Court.

Sikh Relief filed the papers and received the required bonds and sureties from the Sikh Relief volunteer Bhai Parminder Singh Amloh.

Three days after the release of Bhai Nand Singh, Bhai Subeg Singh has also been released from Patiala jail after 25 years of incarceration having been accused in various cases since 1995.

His release has been repeatedly hindered by a Chandigarh administration that rejected his release application over and over, Sikh Relief had filed for a permanent release in 2014 by instructing the renowned lawyer VK Jindal at the Punjab Haryana High Court.

During a hearing on October 31 regarding the petition filed for the release of Bhai Nand Singh in the High Court, the government side had told the court that the government was releasing Bhai Nand Singh and Subeg Singh without opposing the Sikh Relief petition.

For the release of Bhai Subag Singh, two bonds of 15000-15000 have been filed and Parminder Singh Amloh along with Jaswinder Singh Anandpur and Advocate Bibi Kulwinder Kaur had arrived to receive them out of jail.

Sikh Relief UK feels proud to be helping these Singhs in any way we can, including assisting their family financially.

To date, hundreds of Bandi Singhs have been enjoying freedom with the help of Sikh Relief and we are committed that we will continue to make every effort to have the release of all Bandi Singhs.
