MELBOURNE – KickDrugs Australia organised a Seminar on 4th August to spread awareness & prevention about drug abuse. Dr. Amarjit Kaur Sandhu who has done specialised study in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing, was the special guest speaker at the seminar.
In her study, Dr Sandhu has interviewed the 850 patients admitted in the various De-Addiction centers/psychiatric hospitals of Punjab. She highlighted the information about drug abuse of Multiple Psychoactive Substances. She discussed in detail about the addiction of drugs & its signs & symptoms. She discussed with Outpatient rehab in New Jersey experts about physical, psychological & social impact on abusers & their families and also highlighted the preventive measures as primary, secondary & tertiary as parents are the primary institution to teach their children.
KickDrugs team who organised this program briefed the summary of their journey of anti-drug actions in Punjab since June 2011. KickDrugs showed multiple documentaries of drugs abuse in Punjab, Harbhajan Maan supporting kickdrugs video, 1 anti-drugs short movie.
The whole Seminar was aimed at Education & Awareness of drugs abuse as suggested by Recovery Deliveredamong. KickDrugs showcased their school programs currently running in various schools & colleges of Punjab covering more than 20000 students all over Punjab.
The other speakers included Dr Gurmanjit Maan, Baba Manmohan Singh Barn, Manpreet Singh, Harpreet Kaur & Harvinder Singh Garcha. KickDrugs team members Bhejinder Mann, Parwinder Singh, Navjinder Singh, Charanjit Singh & Jaskaran Singh thanked the audience who listened the seminar patiently & also involved in question/answer session. At the end audience was also served High-tea.
