Sikh activist Bhai Joga Singh ‘Khalistani’, who is a well-known activist among the Sikh community worldwide, was the victim of a hit and run accident yesterday.
Bhai Joga Singh was traveling home from the agitation held by Sikhs in relation to the harassment and beating of a Sikh youth in Banga.
As per media reports, Joga Singh and his three associates were attacked by unidentified occupants of an Innova car near Bachchan Singh Chowk near Village Balloke on Thursday.
Joga Singh and his three associates suffered injuries and were rushed to Dayanand Medical College and Hospital (DMCH).
Joga Singh was rushed to hospital for emergency treatment where he is now in on a ventilator in the intensive care ward. The doctors have said the next few days are critical to his recovery.
The other associates, Gurdeep Singh and Sukhraj Singh, were discharged from the hospital after first aid. They alleged that it was a planned attack. Haibowal police registered a case of attempt to murder against the unidentified car driver, on Friday. Police have also seized a half broken number plate of the car.
After the incident, Sikh sangat huddled at DMCH and sat there silently while reciting Chaupai Sahib path.
