Amritsar – In a sudden move, The Amritsar (Rural) police today picked up Joga Singh, the youth who recently attacked Takht Sri Keshgarh Sahib Jathedar Giani Mal Singh, under preventive custody from his native Moleke village in Ajnala.
SSP Jasdeep Singh Saini, said there were reports that he was gathering local youth to disturb peace in the area. The police have also taken his father Gurpal Singh into custody. Saini claimed Joga Singh along with several other youths was threatening his paternal uncle with whom he had an old dispute.
An officer on condition of anonymity said, “We have not arrested Joga Singh but he has just been called to ask few things. He will be sent home soon.” The officer did not divulge into more details.
His mother who was present in the house at the time of arrest, told media that about 6-7 police personnels came to their house and started abusing to his son and husband. She told media that family has not been given any information about any whereabouts where Joga Singh & his father has been taken away by police, however some sources have reported that Joga Singh jas been detained in some Jandiala residence instead of police jail.
Joga Singh mother appealed Sikh panth to wake up against the police atrocities and Punjab government dictatorship.
