Mumbai: Singer Jaspinder Narula on Wednesday addressed a presser here after resigning from the Aam Aadmi Party. She had joined the AAP on February. The singer who shot to fame with the title track of “Pyar To Hona Hi Tha” says that politics is different than what is looks like.

Speaking to Dailybhaskar.com Narula said: “After joining politics, I realized that politics is completely different from what I perceived. Also, things were not working the way I wanted them to. With the vision I had join AAP, things were not going the same way.”

“It became a dicey situation. I can’t indulge into fighting; I am very close to music,” the singer added.

When asked about the fight between Narendra Modi and Arvind Kejriwal in Varanasi Lok Sabha seat she replied, I can’t say anything as of now, anything can happen. I am also like you now. Politics is a different ball game all together.”

Jaspinder Narula also believes that celebrities are not made for politics. She said, “Getting a party ticket and doing the actual work are two different things. You tell me which celebrity actually works for the nation. I was one of the contenders for Lok Sabha seat. My name was also in the list.”

Social activist Mahender Singh, the AAP candidate from North West Delhi withdrew his candidature to fight the Lok Sabha elections after the party received complaints that he has pending cases against his name.

Last week, AAP’s National Executive member Ashok Agarwal had quit the party, saying it has become “directionless” and functions like a private limited company.

Former AAP leader Madhu Bhaduri, a former diplomat, quit the party and condemned the Khirki extension case in which Somnath Bharti, then Delhi’s Law’s Minister, undertook a midnight raid on Ugandan women’s residence.
