New Delhi, Feb 18: After creating a name for himself in the field of sports, former skipper and hockey legend Dhanraj Pillay will now try his hand at politics. Pillay joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday and is set to campaign for them throughout the country.

Meanwhile, singer Jaspinder Narula of Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha fame too joined the AAP. Narula has been involved in social work and the decision to join the AAP seemed natural, she said. “I was working on a project based on the life of freedom fighter Sarvarkar. Freedom fighters have given so much to the country. Even I felt like contributing to the country and joining AAP was a natural option,” she said. With Pillay and Narula joining the AAP, the list of celebs who are associated with the party has just grown bigger.

Pillay, however becomes the third hockey player to enter politics after Dilip Tirkey and Pargat Singh. Pillay has won many laurels including the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award and the Padma Shri award. AAP however will be pinning high hopes on these two well-known names ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.
