Must Read

Khalsa Education Australia launched first Sikh book club in Australia on 3rd April 2015 at Gurdwara Singh Sabha, Craigieburn.

Inspired by the writings of great Sikh scholar Dr. Bhai Vir Singh ji, the book club has been named as Bhai Vir Singh Book Club. The book club has been launched with the aim to promote reading interest among our community which is fading away these days and also to promote Punjabi language & Sikhi teachings via writings of learned Sikh Scholars.

Bhai Vir Singh Book Club will see a different book selected every month. Initially the book titles will be picked from the writings of Bhai Vir Singh ji and then later writings of other Sikh Scholars will be added on as well.

The first book, chosen by BVS, is ‘Satwant Kaur’ by Bhai Vir Singh. The members will have one month to read the novel, which will be discussed within a month of its start.

The book club will dedicate one meeting session a month to discuss the book. The meetings will include large and small group discussions with the hope that each participant can reflect on lessons and take-away from each book. The monthly discussions will be led by different Sikh educators every month.

The book club is looking forward to immersing themselves in great knowledge and sharing their feelings each month.

Readers can contribute to the book club by posting about the book to the Facebook page and tagging the posts #BVSBookClub or by submitting to the book club’s website or Viber group.
