First Punjabi to receive National Police Service Medal in Australia

The Queensland Police Service Awards for Excellence were announced at a presentation ceremony attended by the Commissioner Ian Stewart in Brisbane on August 28.

In the history of Australia, it was the first time that a Punjabi Sikh Man has been awarded National Police Service Medal (NPSM) in recognition of continued performance in his duties and dedication to maintaining safety and security for the people of Queensland.

Mr Ravinder Pal Brar was born is village Mta, Dist Fridkot in Punjab. After receiving his degree in Chemical Engineering from Punjabi University, Patiala, he then came to Australia and completed his Masters here. On completion of his Masters in 1997, he joined Queensland Police services.

Currently, Mr Brar is working as Senior Detective Sargent in Crimes Branch. Punjabi community is proud of his achievements.
