Washington: New York-based Sikh body, Sikh for Justice (SFJ), which has been instrumental in getting summons issued to top Indian political leaders, has been accused of issuing threats and abuse of judicial process by a delegation of senior Indian Sikh leaders who have complained to the US Government.
A delegation of Sikh leaders led by Manjit Singh GK, president of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, which is closely aligned to Punjab’s ruling Akali Dal, submitted a memorandum to the State Department against New York-based Sikhs for Justice (SFJ).
Sikh for Justice (SFJ) has reacted sharply to the statement of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) president Manjit Singh GK and its general secretary Manjinder Singh Sirsa regarding an alleged ongoing extortion racket being run by few persons in US.
Responding to the allegations legal adviser, SFJ, Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, alleged ” DSGMC officials GK and Sirsa are under misconception that they can thwart the legal process in the US also as they have been doing with impunity in Delhi and Punjab“.
Both GK and Sirsa , who are currently on tour of US, had alleged of an on-going extortion and immigration racket run by few persons by misusing US laws. However both of them had not specified the names of the persons or any organization involved in it and had maintained that they would reveal the names at an appropriate time.
Pannun alleged “Sirsa’s accusations and complaint was an unsuccessful defense out of Bollywood, SAD (Badal) leader is fearful that he will be arrested and charged by New York Police for openly issuing criminal threats to an employee of “Pannun Law Firm” who was helping the licensed process servers to track GK on July 11 in New York”.
Both GK and Sirsa couldn’t be contacted for comments.
