On Wednesday, BookMyShow cancelled Punjabi-Canadian singer Shubhneet Singh’s tour of India after receiving calls for a social media boycott for hiring a performer who is supposedly a Khalistani sympathiser.
BookMyShow announced in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, that it will issue a full refund for the tickets within 7 to 10 days.

The Still Rollin Tour for India by singer Shubhneet Singh has been cancelled. For all customers who had bought tickets for the performance, BookMyShow has started a full refund of the ticket price. It stated that the refund would appear in the customer’s source account of the original transaction within 7 to 10 working days.
A #UninstallBookMyShow trended earlier in the day on X, with some referring to the singer Shubh as a “Khalistani” and a supporter of separatist leaders.
This came after a diplomatic spat between India and Canada in which each country expelled a top diplomat. The murder of Sikh separatist leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar, 45, in British Columbia in June of this year was allegedly ordered by New Delhi, according to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. India swiftly rejected Canada’s claim as ludicrous.
The dispute has deteriorated the already tense relations between the two nations and put the brakes on trade negotiations.
An up-and-coming rapper from Punjab named Shubh became well-known when his song “Still Rollin” received a lot of streams on Instagram reels. In 2021, he dropped his breakthrough track, “We Rollin,” and by 2023, it had amassed more than 201 million YouTube views.
His debut album, “Still Rollin,” was just released, and he also announced his first-ever India tour, which will visit 10 cities, as well as a cruise this year.
The Indian trip was sponsored by BookMyShow.
