SANGRUR, Punjab—Following the orders of the Punjab & Haryana High Court, General Secretary of United Akali Dal, Bhai Gurdeep Singh Bathinda, was yesterday released from Sangrur Jail on bail. He was warmly welcomed by Activists of United Akali Dal and Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) outside the Sangrur jail.
Bhai Gurdeep Singh Bathinda’s son Yadwinder Singh told media that his father is a heart patient and not keeping very well and on this basis was granted an interim bail till 17th February, with the intervention of Chief Justice of the Punjab & Haryana High Court. Advocate Gagan Pardeep Singh Bal appeared before the Court on behalf of Bhai Gurdeep Singh Bathinda.
In a video interview by 5aab Media, Bhai Bathinda termed the illegal detention of ‘Sarbat Khalsa 2015’ organizers as abduction by the Badal government. He said that Badal had resolved to illegal tactics after watching the gathering of self-conveyed Sikhs at the ‘Sarbat Khalsa-2015’. He added that the Akali Dal (Badal) was trying to promote communal ideology under label of ‘Sadbhawna Rallies’.
SGPC member Jathedar Surjit Singh Kalaboola (General Secretary, Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar), Advocate Rajdev Singh Khalsa, Former MP Jathedar Gurnaib Singh Sidhu, Bhai Parshotam Singh Fagguwala, Dr. Harmanjit Singh Rampura, Jathedar Randhir Singh Balia, Baba Bachittar Singh, Bhai Randhir Singh (District President, International Panthik Dal), Bhai Ravinderjit Singh Gogi (son of Bapu Surat Singh Ji Khalsa), Bhai Bhawandeep Singh Sidhu, Bhai Jang Singh and others received Bhai Bathinda as he was released from the jail.
Bhai Mohkam Singh Indicted in Another Case
Meanwhile, SinghStation has learnt that a day after Bhai Mohkam Singh was granted bail in sedition case, he has been indicted in a new case to prevent their release from the jail. As per the fresh information availed by Bhai Gurbinder Singh Brar, Majitha Police took away Bhai Mohkam Singh from the Ludhiana with the help of production warrants. Bhai Mohkam Singh has been indicted under charges 295-A (Instigating Religious Sentiments) of Indian Penal Code.
