Chandigarh: Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa, who was being forcibly detained at DMC Hero heart Institute is reported to have been transferred to PGI Chandigarh per the administration orders.
80 yrs old, Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa was undergoing treatment at Dayanand Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) since June 2. The sudden move took place in the afternoon when heavy police force was deployed outside the hospital. Within a few minutes, he was rushed in an ambulance to PGI Chandigarh. This triggered rumours that Khalsa was in a serious condition and had been rushed to PGI in a critical condition.
According to Sarvinder Kaur daughter of Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa who was taking care of her ailing father informed that she had gone home to get some material when she got the information that her father Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa was being shifted to PGI and by the time she reached Hero Heart DMC she found that her father had already been taken by the Police on ambulance to PGI.
However she said that she was left guessing as she never knew the reason as to why her father was being shifted to PGI and it could be because of his ill health. She said that she is now rushing to Chandigarh so that she can know the reason of him being shifted and his condition as well.
It is suspected that Hero DMC Heart Institute being a private hospital would not like to link any “unfortunate incident” to them.
