Balochistan marks Black Day as Pakistan celebrates August 14

Balochistan, 14 August 2014 – Pro-liberation Baloch political Parties have declared Pakistan’s Independence Day a ‘Black Day’ and announced different programs to expressed their dislike for Pakistani forces in Balochistan.

Sources from Balochistan reported that the Baloch populated areas have boycotted Pakistan Independence Day and decided to observe 14 August as a Black Day by hoisting black flags on their houses and tying black armbands.

Several cars having Pakistan’s flag installed on them have been set on fire in some areas of Balochistan.

Flag of Balochistan has been hoisted on houses, cars and other buildings whereas Baloch youth set on Pakistani flag on fire expressing their anger against Pakistani forces atrocities in Balochistan.

Baloch people have been observing 14 August as a Black Day since the illegal occupation of sovereign state of Balochistan by Pakistan in 1948.

Pakistan carried out five military offensives in Balochistan killing, abducting and displacing thousands of Baloch in each operation.

The latest phase of military aggressions started in 2000 when ex-military dictator General Pervez Musharraf took power in military action in 1999.

Several Baloch resistance organisations are waging an armed struggle against what they called ‘occupying Pakistani forces’ in Balochistan.

The resistance organisations are of the view that Pakistan has illegally occupied Balochistan and they will continue to resist until the unconditional withdrawal of Pakistan forces from Baloch land.
