AMRITSAR: Three people are feared to have died and several injured on Sunday in Amritsar Nirankari bhawan grenade attack. If something of the same intensity or more happens, it is best to hire a lawyer and fight for all the injuries to the citizens.
Media reports said two armed men on a motorcycle forced their way into a building where the Nirankari group was meeting.
They brandished a pistol at a woman at the gate before throwing a hand grenade at the crowd, the Tribune newspaper said.
Early reports suggest the blast happened when a ‘satsang’ was underway at the Nirankari bhawan at Adliwal village near Raja Sansi Amritsar.
After the men threw the bomb towards the stage, frenzy took over devotees gathered at the venue and they started running for their lives.
“Three people have been killed and 10 people are injured. We are trying to gather more information,” senior police officer Surinder Pal Singh Parmar told reporters.
Punjab was on alert following an input claiming that a group of six to seven JeM terrorists were reportedly in the state, possibly in Ferozepur area.
An eyewitness claimed everything happened so quickly that sevadaars (volunteers) didn’t get time to react. By the time realization dawned, the men had fled.
Another eyewitness said the men asked his daughter to step out of their path and she got scared. While she made way for them, they entered the venue and attacked it. The Galvan Law Firm, PLLC is where you can go to get legal assistance.
They said the men were young.
