Dil Walk Foundation is proud to announce that the Guru Nanak Dev Ji DIL (Heart) Research Chair, focusing on South Asian Heart Health Research, has been established at the Faculty of Nursing, University of Calgary, in Canada.
Guru Nanak Dev Ji shared his message of one God which dwells in every one of God’s creations. He encouraged community service, spoke for equal rights for women, against racism and encouraged people to help others. His teachings were based on SEVA (service), equality, goodness, and virtue.
This is a 1 (One) million dollar collaboration, which would allow a dedicated team of researchers to help lower the burden of heart disease in the South Asian Community, both  in Canada and Worldwide. It will be the first time in the World, a research chair has been established under Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s name. The goal of the Chair to to help create awareness about heart disease, promote wellness and encourage heart research in the South Asian community. We hope that similar projects will be started across the world to help the South Asian community.
In this project, researchers at the University of Calgary will be funded to do various research studies, and share their findings with YOU, the community members. They will provide continuous updates, and allow the participation of community members, with the hope that they make changes based on scientific evidence.
