SIKH COMMUNITY have again proved their generous spirit, to raise a $20,000 in the Good Friday Appeal for the Royal Children’s Hospital.
Upto 20,000 people joined for the First ever Nagar Kirtan in the Melbourne CBD and donated for this cause.
A total of $18,370 was raised through the Nagar Kirtan day donations and the remaining amount was pooled by Gurdwara Sahib Craigieburn to make it a round figure of $20,000.
“The Good Friday Appeal is overwhelmed by the support of generous Sikh Community and look forward to working with you in future,” said Anne Randall, Director of the Good Friday Appeal.
Randall thanked the Victorian Sikh Gurduaras Council (VSGC) & Victorian Sikhs for hosting the 2019 Good Friday Appeal for Royal Children’s Hospital.
“The Sikh community is very charitable and we are very proud of that. Sharing with the needy and for charitable cause is one of the three Golden Rules of Guru Nanak. We are very excited about raising at least $20,000 for the Good Friday Appeal”, said Gurdeep Singh Matharoo, President of Victorian Sikh Gurduaras Council.
The Good Friday Appeal raises much needed funds for equipment, research and education to support the work of The Royal Children’s Hospital.
