Roop Nagar, 24 October 2013. Today, Bhai Narain Singh Chaura and Bhai Pal Singh France appeared in the Session Court of Judge Jatinder Kaur. Bhai Narain Singh and Bhai Pal Singh, renowned humanitarians, were brought from Amritsar Jail to Roop Nagar under intense high security.
They have both been charged under numerous different acts, including the Arms & Explosives Act and taking part in terrorist activities.
At this point, SOPW would like to remind the Sangat of the background of both these remarkable Gursikhs. Bhai Narain Singh (a university graduate and Sikh Scholar) has spent his entire adult life tirelessly campaigning for justice for Sikhs and continuing the great work of Jaswant Singh Khalra to highlight the human rights abuses that Sikhs continue to suffer at the hands of State Terrorism. Since his arrest, Narain Singh Chaura has faced horrific levels of torture himself, under the guise of interrogation. Bhai Narain Singh Chaura – a humanitarian legend !
Bhai Pal Singh is a French citizen, an elderly gentleman, who has numerous medical conditions which have been made worse due to the torture he has had to endure whilst in prison. He is a social reformer who has dedicated his life to travelling round Punjab, educating the youth in particular, about the dangers of drugs and alcohol. He brought many, many youngsters back into the fold of Sikhi and helped them rid their lives from the evils of addiction. Even whilst in jail, he has arranged an Amrit Sanchar and helped more Sangat on to the path of Sikhi. Bhai Pal Singh – a truly incredible soul !
The next date for a court appearance has been set for 13 November 2013.
