On and around 28 June 2015 and 3 June 2016, Singh Station published on its website and shared on its social media platforms the following articles titled ‘Fraudlent Private college run by Punjabi owners cited as WORST offender in Australia’ and ‘Fraudulent Unique International under fire – Assets frozen’ which contained statements concerning Mr. Amarjit Singh (also known as Amarjit Khela).
To avoid any doubt whatsoever, Mr. Amarjit Singh was never accused of any wrong-doing in his personal capacity and any statement made by Singh Station that says or implies otherwise was incorrect and regrettable. In addition, Unique International College Pty Ltd successfully appealed and won the decision of the Federal Court in relation to allegations of systematic unconscionable conduct brought by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission in the Full Court of the Federal Court, absolving the institution of any wrong-doing in this regard and all asset-freezing orders have lapsed.
Singh Station acknowledges that the statements made in the article concerning Mr. Amarjit Singh were highly defamatory, baseless and factually incorrect.
Singh Station sincerely and unreservedly apologises to Mr. Amarjit Singh for these statements and any harm and embarrassment that has been caused to him and his family from the publication of these statements, both domestically and internationally.”
