Super Sikhs Sports club participate in city2surf charity race

Sydney, 10 August 2014 – After huge success of last year’s participation, this year once again Sydney Super Sikhs Sports club participated in even larger numbers in city2surf charity race.

More than 80,000 entrants competed in the 14-kilometre run. Among the 80,000 running and walking the HeraldSun City2Surf 2014 event in Sydney today was a group of around 50 Sikhs, who participated in such an event for second time in Sydney. Amongst the team, there were youngsters, females, kids and old adults as well who joined the race in colorful turbans.

The Super Sikhs Team finished the 14 Km race in very good spirit with smiling face regardless of whether they were fit enough or not, but everyone of them completed the race, no one gave up. Specially Kaurs (Sikh females) made a great effort.

Sikh Females who participated in HeraldSun City2Surf 2014 Race

The City2Surf is 14km in distance starting from the intersection of Park and College Sts in Sydney’s CBD before heading up William St and through the tunnel at Kings Cross. The course continues along New South Head Rd through Rose Bay, then up “Heartbreak Hill” (the halfway point) and also the toughest part of the course.

The course then turns the corner at Vaucluse, right onto Old South Head Rd, left onto Military Rd and then down the hill to the finish at Australia’s most famous and spectacular Bondi Beach.

The City2Surf finish line is located on Queen Elizabeth Dr at the southern end of Bondi Pavilion.
