Melbourne – Sikh community rallied and raised the voice of protest in front of the Thai consulate in Melbourne today on 9th February against illegal extradition of Jagtar Singh Tara.
The protest was a call given by Sikhs for Justice to internationalize illegal extradition and continuous torture on Bhai Jagtar Singh Tara.
Jagtar Singh Tara, who was part of the ongoing “Sikh political struggle” in Punjab took the responsibility of stopping Genocide of Sikhs and saved a generation from the hands of the Indian oppressive government.
Indian police and security forces have a long history of torturing Sikh nationalists, with complete impunity.
Ever since Thailand handed over Tara’s custody to Indian government, Tara is being continuously tortured, undergoing cruel and inhuman treatment and is implicated in false criminal cases.
A protest letter originally drafted by Sikhs for Justice was also submitted to Royal Thai Honorary Consul-General Dr Simon A. Wallace. When giving letter to Dr. Wallace, the protesters expressed their deep indignation and explained about the illegal extradition of Jagtar Singh Tara.
