Melbourne – A group of dedicated Sikh youth volunteers working under the banner of Sikh Samaritans Australia stepped forward to help a very poor Gursikh family from Amritsar, who had a premature baby.
The baby was delivered at Guru Ramdas Hospital in Amritsar and is to be kept under observation at Hospital for another 3 months yet. Family said they were in urgent need of financial assistance to save their first child.
At a time when family was already fighting with their other day-to-day expenses, Sikh Samaritans came forward and donated Rs 50000 (approx $1000 AUD) towards this cause.
It is pertinent to mention that the members of Sikh Samaritans donated this money out of their Daswandh.
The Sikh concept of Sarbat Da Bhala, which means ‘blessings for everyone’, is at the heard of the message these volunteers seek to share through the help of such families in need.
