Three days after it was released, Sidhu Moosewala’s much awaited song, ‘SYL’ was on Sunday, June 26, deleted from his official YouTube channel. The song had garnered over 22 million views and was released posthumously on June 23 by his team.
The message on the singer’s YouTube page said: ‘This content is not available on this country domain due to a legal complaint from the government.’
The song based on Sutlej-Yamuna Link (SYL) was officially dropped on singer’s official YouTube channel on Thursday only, and had become a massive hit within minutes of its release, crossing the landmark of 1 million views in the first 30 minutes.
The song has come under the radar of controversy since its very release on June 23. Many has raised concerns over hailing of Babbar Khalsa Leader Bhai Balwinder Singh Jattana as ‘Sikh Liberation Hero’.
The song talks about about undivided Punjab, its water dispute with Haryana, the 1984 Sikh genocide, Sikh political prisoners, as well as the recent Nishan Sahib flag hoisting at the Red Fort during the farmer agitation.
