The Sarbat Khalsa designated Takht Jathedars today issued an edict excommunicating KPS Gill, former director general of the Punjab Police, and retired Lt. General KS Brar, the Operation Bluestar commander.
Anguished over Deputy CM Sukhbir Badal’s failure to abide by the summons to appear before them today, they gave him a month’s time to him to clarify his position.
These decisions were taken by “Jathedars” Dhian Singh Mand, Amrik Singh Ajnala and Baljit Singh Daduwal.
Gill had been declared “tankhayia” (a person guilty of religious misconduct) along with Brar by radical Sikhs during the controversial congregation at Chabba village in Amritsar on November 10 last year. They were directed to clear their stand before the “Jathedars” by November 20.
Jathedar Mand said if Brar and Gill violated this “hukumnama” they would face action as per the Sikh principles.
