Punjabi Woman’s Dead body found floating in Sydney Harbour

Sydney – The body of a Punjabi woman aged in her mid-40s has been found floating in Sydney Harbour just off Balmain East.

Police were called to Illoura Reserve, on Edward Street, about 6.40am on Thursday after a passer-by reported finding a body in the water.

Officers from Leichhardt Local Area Command and water police recovered the body.

The deceased, Rimple Jawanda, resident from Sydney, has three children – two daughters and one son.

Early Police  investigations indicate the death is not suspicious.

A post-mortem examination will be conducted and a report will be prepared for the coroner.

Rimple’s parents who live in Hoshiarpur district in Punjab have also reached Sydney for participating in her last rites.
