A woman, who suffered severe burns to her entire body at Rouse Hill yesterday, died in hospital this morning.
Police are investigating the circumstances of how the woman, aged 32, got the full thickness burns to her body, from her chin to her feet.
Police and paramedics were called to a house on Greensborough Ave, Rouse Hill about 2.10pm yesterday and found the injured woman with serious burns to her body.
She was flown to Royal North Shore Hospital by a CareFlight helicopter but died about 7.15am today.
Her husband, aged 34, was taken to Westmead Hospital with minor burns to his hands and has since been released.
No one else was in the house at the time. The woman has been identified as Parminder Kaur originally from Nawan Shehar, Punjab. She has got a brother and sister-in-law living in Australia as well. It has been heard that her parents are now flying from India to Australia for the last rituals.
A crime scene was set up as police started investigations at the house yesterday. Officers from The Hills local area command are trying to determine how she came to suffer the burns.
