Nakodar (12 July 2014) – Yesterday, Phagwara City Police registered a case against three people in the case of beating of a Naga sadhu beaten ‘

City police registered the case against three unidentified persons under Section 295 A IPC, hurting the religious sentiments of Hindu people.

It is notable that a day before the Naga Sadhu was beaten by a few Sikh individuals at Phagwara National Highway because he had no clothes on his body.  This whole incident was recorded in a  video and was uploaded on Whatsapp which spread all over Punjab and world thereafter.

When this video came across Nakodar people, the city’s Hindu organizations created a massive wave of protests. A large number of youth held a March protest immediately in the city at the Local Committee Chowk. They demanded case to be registered against persons who has beaten the Naga Sadhu.

On receiving notification of the incident, including city police Surinder Pal Singh police party arrived on the scene and asked the youth protesting to be calm and assured to take action against the perpetrators.

City police took statements of Sunny Dhir son of Ravi Bhushan Dhir resident of Mohalla ramauta and has registered a case against three unidentified persons.
