Speaking at a function organized by ‘Uttar Pradesh Kalyan Parishad’ to celebrate Vishwakarma Diwas in Amritsar, Badal said that the state would soon open schools and primary health centers or dispensaries in areas dominated by migrant labourers.

He said that he had directed deputy commissioners to conduct surveys for identifying such areas.

The Chief Minister also said that the state would provide housing facility to migrants on easy installments.

He added that the migrants would not have to pay the cost of land, while the construction charges would be collected from them through easy installments.

Badal assured that the people that one-third of the houses constructed under housing schemes would be reserved for the migrants so that these people ‘feel at home’ in the state.

Special camps would be organized by the district authorities to make Ration, Adhaar and Voter cards of all eligible migrants. He said that eligible beneficiaries would get subsidized atta and dal under the Atta-Dal scheme of the state government.
