The Sarbat Khalsa 2015 appointed parallel Jathedars — Bhai Dhian Singh Mand, Bhai Baljit Singh Daduwal and Bhai Amrik Singh Ajnala – today rejected the “tankhah” awarded to Cabinet Minister Sikander Singh Maluka by Akal Takht.
With Maluka and others failing to appear before the parallel Jathedars, they were directed to clarify their stance by January 24. The parallel Jathedars also appealed to the Sikh community all over the world to refrain from having any relation with such ‘anti-Panthic’ persons till that period.
Terming the Akal Takht action on Maluka as a mere “political drama”, Mand alleged:
“The politically influenced Jathedars who have already been rejected and excommunicated by the Sikh Panth during the 2015 Sarbat Khalsa for their controversial decisions have no right to pronounce ‘tankhah’. It was just a drama enacted by the Akalis to gain political mileage for Maluka.”
Daduwal said the community had been asked to submit suggestions before January 24 about the next course of action.
