The movie depicts Sikh Guru, Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji in violation of established principle that Sikh Gurus can not be depicted in any visual form- still or moving.

On May 27, SGPC president Gobind Singh Longowal announced that a SGPC sub-committee will meet on May 29 to review the film. However, The panel, constituted to look into the controversy ended up with no conclusion. It has been learnt that a few members of the panel have opined that to connect the younger generation with the Sikhism, it is necessary to be liberal and allowed 3-D animation technology that depicts Sikh history and culture. On the other hand, a few members are adamant that the Sikh principles should never be put at stake. This animated film that was scheduled to be released on June 4 has got its title track played on social media.
