Intensifying its relief operations, Khalsa Aid yesterday hired a helicopter to reach one of the most affected remote village in Nepal.

The village of Awai in the district of Dhanding Besi is cut off by the devastating earthquake and there is an extensive damage that has occured in this small village, destroying over 80 homes in total.

The affected villagers in this village desperately needed Tarpaulins and food supply. After a thorough assessment and considering flying as the only way to reach out this area, Khalsa Aid MD Amarpreet Singh, managed to hire a helicopter to deliver much needed aid there.

He flew over villages near the epicenter on Wednesday. “It’s very clear that those places are hard to get to. It’s either a helicopter or nothing“.

“There is a very important need. These people just need to survive. We can’t wait for the government. We decided to do it ourselves,” said Amarpreet Singh, MD Khalsa Aid (India).

The people from this village deeply appreciated the vital aid delivered by Khalsa Aid and also honoured Amarpreet Singh for his courageous visit.

Sikh Community all over the world is really proud of the humanitarian work carried out by Khalsa Aid. It is humble request to everyone to donate towards this noble cause.
