Melbourne to host First Punjabi Film Festival in Australia

The first ever Virasat International Punjabi Film Festival and Awards will be hosting events in Melbourne to showcase Punjabi culture under the aegis of Sanjhi Awaaz Radio and Hundal Films group.

On Thursday, 12th May, VIPFFA 2016 held its first press conference at Maharaja Indian Restaurant, Preston. The press conference was attended by notable figures in the film industry, including actor Harish Verma and other local film-industry personalities. The press conference acts as an opportunity to introduce VIPFFA not only to the industry and distinguished filmmakers in Australia, but also towards the global Punjabi community as a whole.

This festival will be a fun-filled celebration of Punjabi film and culture that people of all ages and backgrounds can enjoy. The event pledges to deliver a high standard of cultural, educational and entertainment values to the people of Australia.

In addition to gala events, film parties, concerts, and workshops, there will also be an International business summit held with participation from Indian as well as Australia business industry, on the second day of the event. Over 150 delegates from India are expected to attend while more than 250 Australian businesses are expected to participate. The business conference will discuss trade and investment opportunities; technological and strategic alliances; education; entrepreneurship development; and innovation and incubation. It will also feature opportunities for networking and on-site business visits.
