Khalsa Aid CEO steps in to help Yazidi Refugees in Iraq

Erbil (Iraq) August 19, 2014: Sikh Charity, Khalsa Aid has now reached at Iraq to help a minority community Yazidi. The Khalsa Aid volunteers visited more than 100 people of Yazidi minority community and provided food to them and the milk and other usable things are to be provided tomorrow.

According to Khalsa Aid volunteers, the children of Yazidi community had seen a Sikh first time in their life and they were happy to see him, who had come to help them with food.

These children along with another 100 people managed to escape the ISIS onslaught. But many of those in the surrounding villages were not so fortunate and were killed.

Khalsa Aid was informed about these refugees by a local in Erbil. They were happy to see a Sikh and thanked the Sikh community for thinking about them.

“We need food, especially rice. Can you please help us!”

Within 45 minutes of the request KA team delivered bags of rice and milk will be delivered tomorrow.

This was the first time these children seen a Sikh. They were very happy and managed to enjoy a few minutes of laughter.
