Wahington DC, USA: Known to be an icon of Khalistani movement Dr Gurmit Singh Aulakh passed away after long illness today. He was 79 years old. He had been bed ridden for sometime past.The information of his demise has been shared by Gurpreet Singh Hansra from Fremont, USA.
Once a research scientist at Boston Medical School, Dr. Aulakh and his associates officially declared Khalistan’s independence from India, a sovereign Sikh nation On October 7, 1987.
Dr Aulakh was the President of the Council of Khalistan, an organization that supports the establishment of Khalistan, a sovereign Sikh nation in South Asia. He was the President of Khalistan Council, which was declared by the Panthic Committee (Sarbat Khalsa – Khalsa Panth) in 1987.
