Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara denied bail in Blast case even after 22 yrs Jail

LUDHIANA – Even after spending 22 years in jail custody, Jathedar Jagtar Singh Hawara was denied bail in a bomb blast case dating back to 1995. Additional Sessions Judge Atul Kasana today dismissed the bail plea of alleged terrorist Jagtar Singh Hawara in a bomb blast case.

The blast had taken place on December 5, 1995, near clock tower Ludhiana.

A case under Sections 307 and 427 IPC and under the Explosives Act was registered at Kotwali police station. Apart from him, the police had also nominated Paramjit Singh Bheora in this case. Bheora was declared a proclaimed offender.

Hawara was generally produced through video conferencing during hearings in this case.

Bhai Jagtar Singh’s lawyer, Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur told that they would now move to the High Court for bail in this case.

Bheora lodged at Burail jail has moved an application requesting court to join him in the case. He has pleaded through his lawyer that he was booked in this case by the police and later on declared proclaimed offender.

He was arrested in Beant Singh assassination case but not arrested in this case. The court was yet to decide his plea.
